This blog is in accordance with rollsacrossamerica.blogspot.com but from the kid's (Kyle and Carter) point of view. We will do our best to update the blog daily but only if technology cooperates and we have internet!

First Day
Today we left Fredericksburg at about 1:00pm but only after getting a shake at carl's and filling up the car. We drove for what seemed like forever to a gas station about 45 miles from the Virginia/Tennessee border. We then hit the road again until we reached Knoxville, TN and had an awesome pulled pork platter and naked buffalo wings. If you are ever in the area, check it out (Dead End Barbeque) it was delicious! We then drove another 80 or so miles to the Red Roof Inn. The temperature stayed under 100°f and humidity was comparatively low at no more than 60%. In all we drove about 550 miles and with about 8 miles to the gallon that's about 65 gallons if my calculations are correct. With gas prices about $3.52 I don't even want to think about it! All in all it was a long drive but today was probably the longest so if the temperature cooperates, we'll live.

Oh, and by the way... our power adapter went out in the back. That means no way to charge things and possibly no internet! Keep your fingers crossed for the best! New time zone!!!
ReplyDeleteRed Roof Inn? That was suppose to be an Ecno Lodge! What happened to the choice points?! :)
